    Company Description
    Hire Well serves as a hiring consultant to small companies who do not have an in-house Human Resource Manager. Small companies tend to hire too quickly and the wrong hire can damage morale and productivity. The fees charged by traditional recruiters can be prohibitively expensive for small organizations, and their services are often not broad enough for the needs of a small business owner. Hire Well provides an affordable flat fee alternative with a service that starts with pre-hire planning and continues through post-hire follow through, and with the goal of getting it right the first time.
    Services
    A Hire Well consultant will help each client to define and establish the parameters of the position and define the type of candidate who will best fit that company's culture. We will place the ad, review the resume of every applicant, phone interview the best candidates, assist with in-house interviews, gather references, and follow-up with both the client and the new hire during the first 90 days of the successful candidate's employment.
    Experience
    Since 2006, Hire Well has successfully hired bookkeepers for boatyards and advertising agencies; sales professionals and customer service staff for a printing firm; an executive assistant for a not-for-profit organization; a controller for a manufacturer; consulting engineers; project managers; and other staff for companies of 1 to 80 employees. While working as a traditional recruiter, Barbara successfully placed executives, managers, national and international sales professionals, CPAs, and administrative personnel from Bangor to York County. Barbara is an active member of the Portland Regional Chamber, currently serving on the Regional Board and on the Membership Committee. In addition, she is an active member of the Association for Consulting Expertise. She and her husband, Stewart, are members of Centerboard Yacht Club, and live in South Portland aboard their 47 foot Cheoy Lee Cutter, where she has her home office.
