Dave offers instruction, in groups or one-on-one, on business writing skills, with an emphasis on readers' needs, thoughtful revision and meticulous editing (quality control). He teaches with a minimum of lecturing and a maximum of writing exercises on topics relevant to participants, reinforced by peer review. The same approach to clear and unambiguous content is at the core of Dave's presentation skills training, in which participants learn to make genuine audience connections without the crutch of PowerPoint. For media relations training, Dave uses realistic role-playing to show how participants can write their own press releases without an expensive PR firm, establish media outreach programs, and prepare for crisis communications. He uses a video camera to record mock press conferences and discuss lessons learned. Dave has also edited three books. Details and references available on request.
