OUR ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE!!

The Importance of the Right Culture
in any

Business, Organization, or Corporation

  • What is organizational culture ?
  • How can the right culture be a significant competitive advantage?
  • How do you deliberately create the best culture for your organization or business ?
  • As a consultant, how do you go about helping a client create the best culture for them?

If  addressing these questions is of interest to you,  you won’t want to miss the Nov. 16th  Association for Consulting Expertise program, featuring Derek Volk, of Volk Packaging Corporation.

Derek believes that a strong and deliberately developed organizational culture is one of the keys to high performance, sustainability and to serving employees, customers and community well.  During the November ACE program meeting Derek will share his experiences with the importance of business/organization culture and how it is just as important as traditional measures of business success.  This is intended to be an interactive session/discussion engaging meeting attendees to share their experiences on this topic.

Our Speaker:

Derek Volk is president and co-owner of Volk Packaging Corporation, a third generation family owned and operated corrugated box manufacturer in Biddeford, Maine.  Derek is a Maine businessman, author, radio personality, volunteer and philanthropist who, along with his family, was named the 2015 Spurwink “Humanitarian of the Year.”

Derek takes great pride in his corporate culture and is determined to show the world that the word corporate doesn’t have to be a negative.  The company, and the Volk family, has amazing relationships with their employees and a significant social media presence, especially for a manufacturer.  You can find them at www.volkboxes.com or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/volkpackagingfans.

Volk Packaging has been a "Family-Owned Maine Business of the Year" and recognized by Mainebiz as one of the "Best Places to Work in Maine" (#16 overall and #1 in manufacturing) and received numerous other awards.

Roundtable:

The Roundtable runs from about 9:45 to 10:30 and is optional. This is usually a skill-building session facilitated by a member(s).

OUR ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE!

ACE is hosting a food drive this holiday season.  Please give generously by bringing a donation of food to the November 16 meeting.  Consider conducting your own mini food drive by asking friends and neighbors to add to your contribution.

Donations will be given to the First Baptist Church in Portland, at the request of the Good Shepherd Food Bank, which will distribute them to needy families.

The Food Bank is requesting:

  • Toilet paper
  • Dish soap (small bottles)
  • Unscented or lightly scented bar soap

  • Soup
  • Cereal (not high sugar)
  • Cereal and granola bars
  • Cooking oil
  • Tuna

Less in Demand but Appreciated:

  • Canned fruit (in juice)
  • Rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Juice (100%)
Please bring your own bag to contain your contribution, plus any extra, sturdy bags you're willing to donate.

Please do not bring:
  • Pasta
  • Beans
  • Canned Veggies
as they get much of this from the USDA.
