Intellectual Capital: Define it, Understand it, Capture it.
Mary Adams, President Intellectual Capital Advisors
Not that long ago Intellectual Capital was unheard of. Today, it's at the heart of companies all around the world. But while that's easy to say, it isn't as easy to understand and as consultants, we owe it to ourselves, our consulting practices, and our clients to get a solid grasp on Intellectual Capital. This month we'll begin a 2 part series on that topic.
Mary Adams is a keynote speaker on 21st century management. She will help you adapt to the new terms of competition in the knowledge economy — to use your unique knowledge to stand out from your competition and continuously increase performance….It’s not about what you own, it’s about what you know.
Mary Adams has more than 25 years experience helping CEO’s and CFO’s conquer challenges such as growth, change, mergers and acquisitions. She has been a trusted advisor over the years to a diverse group of executives from early stage to mature companies in technology, services and traditional industry. She started her career at Citibank and after 15 years in finance, she started a consulting company in 1999.
Mary is an expert in the field of intellectual capital. She blogs on this subject at Smarter Companies and at the IC Knowledge Center, and also hosts a monthly conference call on intangibles for the Intangible Asset Finance Society. She and her partner, Michael Oleksak, are currently working on a book to be published in early 2010 by Praeger's Greenwood Press called Intangible Capital: Putting Knowledge to Work in the 21st Century Organization.
